At the Kröller-Müller couple’s Sint Hubertus Hunting Lodge, there are two small domes, one of which now serves as a catering outlet. We have redesigned the interior, incorporating all the equipment and functions into a sleek design. It looks simpler than it is, but it is particularly challenging when you realize that nothing could be altered to the building itself as it is a listed building.
Upon studying the Jachthuis, it became clear that architect Berlage made extensive use of tiles. In the design for the interior of the new dome, we have incorporated these, alongside other materials characteristic of his style, albeit in a modern interpretation. An elegant welcome with a nod to the past – that’s what it is.
